WHAT IS LEVITRA?

Levitra is a related drug to Viagra, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Almost everyone knows about the drug Viagra. This drug of synthetic origin was the first drug used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (simply said, impotence). The medicine turned out to be very popular, but it has many drawbacks, mainly manifested by side effects, but since there were no analogs on the market for a long time, consumers were forced to be content with what they had. However, the pharmaceutical industry does not stand still, and improved, stronger and less harmful drugs are synthesized all the time. So, Levitra (Vardenafil) eventually appeared on the pharmacy shelves as an alternative to Viagra. Levitra is manufactured by Bayer Pharmaceuticals (Bayer) and sold by Glaxo SmithKline and Schering-Plow.

HOW DOES LEVITRA WORK?

The principle behind how Levitra works is based on blocking a chemical that causes the outflow of blood from the penis, which returns it back from a state of erection. To understand how Levitra works, it is necessary to understand the underlying physiology behind the appearance of an erection. When a man is aroused, the transmitted nerve signals cause a release of a chemical, leading to an increase in blood flow to the penis. In a normal state, blood does not flow in an elevated amount into the corpus cavernosum of the penis. When excited, blood flow through the arteries fills the penis, squeezing the abductor veins, creating pressure and an erection. The reverse process occurs when those chemicals are destroyed by another substance in the body, called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5). Levitra blocks PDE-5, because of which the substances responsible for the appearance of erection remain. Thus, the muscles of the penis are not narrowed. This allows the blood to remain, maintaining the pressure longer, and thereby maintaining an erection.

HOW LONG DOES LEVITRA LAST?

The time it takes for a pill to work may be different for different men. Research suggests that the tablets will begin to act within an hour. Often men report Levitra starts working within 30 minutes. Duration of action may also vary. Levitra is taken orally with plenty of water. The effect of the drug begins after 30 minutes, but for the full force, it is desirable to give it 1 hour. The action of the tablets lasts about 12 hours from the time of admission. More detailed information can be found in the instructions on the use of Levitra, it can be combined with various drugs to prolong sexual intercourse such as Dapoxetine and various sprays prolongers.

LEVITRA SIDE EFFECTS

Levitra side effects, for the most part, are short-term and mild. On rare occasions, patients experience allergic reactions and swelling. Most side effects affect the nervous system, primarily in the form of headache and dizziness. Infrequently, patients experience blurred vision and altered color perception. Side effects when taking Levitra can also relate to the cardiovascular system. The most common manifestations include tachycardia and heart palpitations. Problems with the vessels can be expressed in the form of vasodilation and hypotension. Common adverse reactions are some symptoms of the respiratory system, particularly nasal congestion. Among reported problems of the gastrointestinal tract after taking Levitra, dyspepsia, pain in the abdomen, and diarrhea are possible. Infrequent occurrences after taking Levitra tablets include vomiting, gastritis, and dry mouth. Rare musculoskeletal system effects arise, such as back pain, increased muscle tone, and myalgia.

HOW TO TAKE LEVITRA (DOSAGE)?

Levitra should be taken if necessary approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. However, not more than 1 tablet should be taken per day. It is recommended to take a pill with a full glass of water. Levitra is not impacted by food consumption, so you can take it with food; however, large amounts of fatty foods can reduce the volume of the drug in the blood,; therefore, reducing the effectiveness and duration of action. Evidence shows that the volume of the active component does not affect the efficacy of the drug, but at different stages of erectile dysfunction, different dosages are prescribed. If you are taking the medication for the first time, it is recommended to start with a minimum dose of 5 mg. If the expected effect is too weak, you can gradually increase the dosage (20 mg per day – the maximum amount allowed).

LEVITRA AND ALCOHOL

Side effects of drinking alcohol while taking Levitra are unknown. However, Levitra has been shown to have a suppressing impact when paired with the use of alcohol.

LEVITRA AND COCAINE

What results can be expected when combining Levitra with cocaine? The consequences, based on evidence gathered in research, are severe—the minimum is that a man can become a completely impotent person for up to thirty years and the worst is it could end in a heart attack. Fatal heart attacks are rare with Levitra use, but in combination with cocaine, this negative side effect is magnified many times. There is also the psychological problem—if taking Levitra in a cocktail with energy stimulants, it gives the person powerful sexual experiences. As a result, the usual sexual life becomes dull for him. In other words, a person becomes a drug addict. Subsequently, this only leads to frustration and the search for new vivid sensations from other drugs not related to sex. Such experiments never end well.

HOW TO MAKE LEVITRA MORE EFFECTIVE?

To obtain the most rapid effect, it is recommended that the drug be taken on an empty stomach, so that food—fatty foods in particular—does not interfere with the absorption of the active substance of the drug—Vardenafil—into the blood. This requirement is typical for many drugs. Those using Levitra can drink alcohol without fear of reducing the effectiveness. The only thing you need to focus on is that alcohol must be taken strictly in small quantities, because alcohol, by itself, has a negative effect on the erectile function of the male body. To achieve the desired effect, it is enough to take one 50 mg Levitra tablet. If the desired effect is not achieved, then there is a need to retake the drug, while it is necessary to increase the dose of the active substance, but not more than 100 mg per day.

HOW LONG DOES LEVITRA STAY IN YOUR SYSTEM?

The maximum concentration of the active substance Vardenafil is observed in the blood after 60–80 minutes. In addition, when taking a levitra, increased sexual stamina is noted. Therefore, sexual intercourse can last as long as both partners wish. Also, premature ejaculation is reduced to a minimum with Levitra. It is worth noting that 4-6 hours is the time of action of this product, and not to maintain a constant erection. This means that ejaculation can take place a few minutes after the start of sex or an hour, after which the penis will again take a relaxed position. But it will not be difficult to get a re-election within four to six hours of taking the medication. The number of sexual acts during this period is unlimited.

GENERIC LEVITRA REVIEWS

Generic Levitra, which is based on the active ingredient Vardenafil, is a product of the famous Indian brand, designed to restore the erectile function of men. The high efficacy of the drug, its mild effect, safety, and affordable price distinguishes it from other modern analogs. Reviews of doctors and customers affirm the same therapeutic effect of the generic expensive brand drug. If the brand drug Levitra can be bought at a pharmacy at a high price, then the generic of this drug is extremely affordable and allows every man to use a quality safe drug. Generic Levitra allows men to eliminate the main symptoms of sexual pathologies so that they can once again achieve the erection necessary for sexual intercourse. The drug stands apart from other analogs due to its milder action, the minimal risk of an adverse reaction, affordable cost, and the possibility of consuming a moderate amount of alcohol and high-calorie foods as well while using it.

Glossary

TermDefinition
Drug Patent

As far are the drug patents go, those are granted  by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and are assigned to give the exclusive intellectual property right to the patent owner. The patent holder thus becomes a sole possessor of the copyright which includes such attributes as the brand name, trademark, pharmaceutical form, drug composition, production method, etc. A mean term of a patent spans 20 years starting from the filing date, but is subject to alterations associated with, for instance, forumla updating, litigations over copyright breach, etc.

Drug Exclusivity

Exclusivity is defined as the acknowledged and legally fixed right that allows the patent holder to be the only manufacturer of the invented product. It may or may not be synched in with the patent duration. The grant for exclusivity can be assigned for anywhere between 6 months to 7 years proceeding from the set of conditions attendant to the exclusivity granting.

RLD

A Reference Listed Drug (RLD) is the basic drug that is being referred to during generic competition; the blueprint formula that eventual generic manufacturers have to prove their product bioequivalence to. Note that the current FDA policy is to have only one RLD product with the purpose of minimizing any significant alterations to the formula of generic equivalents. According to FDA rules, applicants for generic manufacture must refer to RLD in their ANDA (Abbreviated New Drug Application).

AB

AB is a drug that is vetted as bioequivalent to RLD product. Provided that there is a testing result confirming bioequivalence of the generic medication, it will be assigned an AB code that entails the identity of drug composition, available doses and application instructions, as well as producing identical health effects (explained in more detail under Therapeutic Equivalence-Related Terms, Pharmaceutical Equivalents). In particular cases, the AB code can add up a number – but only if there is more than one RLD for a particular generic drug, all featuring the same strength. In this case, the coding will read as follows: AB1, AB2, etc. A generic may be referred to using more than one RLD only when there are two or more original medications whose pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic characteristics do not fully coincide. For drugs with clinically proven bioequivalence to a specific RLD, the triple character code is assigned that fully coincides with the reference drug.
