Breast Implants: Are They Worth It?

Women seek breast implants for various reasons. In some cases they need reconstruction after breast removal, which is almost always an integral part of breast cancer treatment. For many, it is a pure beauty procedure, however.

The urge to regain self-confidence, self-esteem and the desire to feel beautiful is a powerful motivating factor that pushes many women to get a boob job. For a fact, a quality breast implant is an expensive thing, which also involves an array of medical factors and requires extensive consultations with a qualified and licensed plastic surgeon. The overarching question however is, are breast implants worth it?

Breast Implants

With the age of the internet we are in today, it has become easy for people to attain the information they need just by a click of the button. However, the question of whether or not breast implants are worth it is one that will give you a broad range of mixed reactions. Some will say “this has worked for me 100%”, while you will find others saying “this was the worst decision I made.” You will also find thousands of critics asking “why fake breasts? Why not stay natural?”

As human beings, one of the most important aspects of our overall well-being is our mental health. For this reason, anything that can help you regain your self-acceptance is worth it. If you can’t help but think that your breasts are small or saggy – however subjective your opinion might be – your inner-self tends to believe you don’t look good in general. It is, therefore, a time you work towards changing this. If you don’t, you might end up ruining your personal, professional and social life by having a low self-esteem, which also contributes to bad mental health.

If you believe that bigger breasts will blend well with your body shape, why not opt for breast surgery and make them larger? If you cannot wear a swimming costume because you have saggy breasts which make you look ‘unpresentable’ before your peers, why not get breast implants?

We live in the 21st century and it is time when women go against subjective cultural believes. So padded and push-up bras – although still being used by some women nowadays – are becoming things of the past as contemporary plastic surgery offers an ultimate solution. With modern, cutting-edge medical technology, breast surgery success rate is almost 96% if you choose an experienced and highly qualified surgeon to do the job.  And the costs have drastically dropped in last years. However, even if you’ve chosen a reputable clinic with highly professional surgeons, you should know there are still chances of complications as breast surgery is an invasive procedure, and no one can tell for sure how your body may react to it.

So for women that have undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy, breast plastic surgery is definitely worth it being the only possible solution that allows such women to get their attractive physique and self-esteem back. For those who have very small or saggy breasts, the implants are also a quick and effective way to trick the nature.

The problem is, however, that women attach so much importance to this part of the female body that they tend to get very subjective about their own breasts. As a result, some women go for surgery when they don’t really need it. So, to make the right decision, you are advised to go to specialists like a psychologist, breast physician and plastic surgeon specialized in breast augmentation that will assess your problem and help choose the best solution (which is not always breast implants) for your particular case. Remember that in many cases the desired results can be achieved without surgery.
